Dear NRDC Activist,
President Trump’s first address to the joint session of Congress last night capped off the first six chaotic and destructive weeks of this administration.
As usual, Trump repeated numerous false claims about clean energy and the economy. And he bragged about weakening and blocking climate laws that invest hundreds of billions of dollars to protect the environment and spur investment in clean energy and new infrastructure — programs which are creating good new jobs in red states and blue states alike.
Of course, none of this is a surprise. It’s all in the service of Trump's Project 2025 agenda and the billionaire oil and gas donors he solicited to help bankroll his campaign, and to help pay for a $4.5-trillion handout for the wealthy and corporations — putting fossil fuels first and leaving families and communities exposed to toxic chemicals, polluted air, and contaminated waters and lands.
Make no mistake: This is the worst White House assault ever on the environment and public health.
They expect the rest of us to roll over and pay the price — with our jobs, our wallets, and our health. And I know NRDC supporters like you will not stand for it.
It’s time for the legislative and judicial branches to rein in the excesses of executive overreach. This is the moment that NRDC was made for.
Here’s our action plan:
Thank you for fighting alongside us and making all our work possible. You can be sure we’ll be calling on you in the weeks and months ahead when we need your help most.
Sincerely,
NRDC
