NPR: Majorities say state of the union is not strong
[link removed]
Hi John,
Last night, in his address to Congress, President Trump doubled down on his support for Elon Musk and reiterated his aspirations for Greenland and the Panama Canal. And, after earlier in the day denying federal funding to any college or university that accommodates student protests, he promised to wipe out anything that hints at diversity and inclusion in the government, the military, and the private sector. We should believe him when he says he’s just getting started.
Thousands are already unemployed as a direct result of President Trump and DOGE's federal workforce layoffs, Medicaid is at risk of being gutted, and our national security is weakened after top military officials were fired.
This is not the American Dream.
The state of the union is not strong right now, and according to a recent poll, most Americans agree: 53% of Americans think the state of the union is not strong, and 54% said the country is headed in the wrong direction.
We want to hear from you. Your voice is your power. That's why we're looking for 500 people from our community to sign on before midnight tonight, to join millions around the country doing the same. So please, John, if you agree that the state of the union is not strong, add your name today:
