We are in the midst of chaos right now. There’s no getting around it. Everything Is Terrible All At Once. It’s a lot, and it can be difficult to find a harbor in the emotional storm. The advice I always give is to find one thing that you can focus on with small steps you can take. Maybe it’s volunteering in a school, working in your church’s food bank once a week, baking goodies for your elderly neighbor. It doesn’t have to be big, it doesn’t have to feel world changing to be world changing, even if that world is just one person. If we all changed one person’s world, after all, well, you get it.

For me, of course, that one thing is getting IDs. Every day, we help someone get an ID, and I know that even in the midst of this national hurricane that at least I am doing that one thing. Having that anchor to hold on to means everything in times like these.
So if I have one piece of advice right now, that’s it: find your one thing, and keep at it. We are going to get through the storm and come out even better but while we’re in it, find your anchor, and hold on.
Thanks always,
Kat
