Dear John,
Last night, President Trump addressed a joint session of Congress and the nation for the first time since he took office more than a month ago.
In his address, which covered a myriad of topics and issues, Trump highlighted several of the executive orders he has signed so far including:
- Recognizing the biological reality of two sexes (O. #14168)
- Keeping men out of women's sports (O. #14201)
- Protecting children from radical "gender transition" procedures (O. #14187)
- Protecting children from radical gender ideology indoctrination in public schools (E.O. #14190)
The executive orders listed above represent critical victories for common sense and more importantly, biblical values -- things you and I have been fighting for, for years.
But if we stop here and become complacent with these victories, they could be erased by the next administration.
In Washington, D.C., victories are often temporary, especially when they rely solely on executive orders -- because executive orders can be undone with the stroke of a pen.
That is what happens when a new administration takes office: throw out the previous administration's executive orders and create new ones that are the polar opposite. Like I've said on numerous occasions, that kind of whiplash is unsustainable.
Our government needs consistent direction -- not constant chaos. The only way to ensure good policies last is to pass legislation that codifies them into law. That's where Family Research Council (FRC) comes in.
Over our 42-year history, we have developed the strategies needed for such a time as this. Through our policy proposals, key relationships, and providential location in our nation's capital, FRC is working tirelessly to ensure that common-sense, God-honoring policies are not just temporary wins but a foundation for the next generation.
SEIZE THE MOMENT WITH FRC
By working directly with federal lawmakers and educating, encouraging, and equipping them to stand firm for biblical values, FRC is serving as your voice for truth on Capitol Hill.
Even in his address last night, Trump urged Congress to pass legislation that would codify these protections for children against dangerous treatments, procedures, and ideologies into law.
With members of Congress and many senators up for re-election in 2026, we may only have two years to act.
That's why we need Congress to act quickly to make these policies permanent.
Under a new Congress, these legislative victories could be reversed. But if history shows us anything, it's that it is much more difficult to repeal a piece of legislation after it's been passed than it is to pass new legislation.
Time is of the essence. The Left is working overtime to take back the ground we've gained and dismantle these policies before they take root -- by filing countless lawsuits, enlisting activist judges who overstep their judicial authority, and actively undermining our elected officials and their appointees. Their best path back to power is for us to fail to seize this moment.
But FRC will not waste this opportunity. Will you?
PARTNER WITH FRC
Together, you and I can equip and mobilize Bible-believing Christians across the country through our award-winning broadcast Washington Watch, The Washington Stand news outlet, and more.
Even if we're successful in using this opportunity to advance biblical truth in public policy, the opposition to truth and common sense will continue to rage.
True victory cannot come from policy alone. The kind of change we need requires a deeper transformation in the hearts and minds of Americans.
In Joshua 1:8, the Lord instructed Joshua, "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful" (NIV).
This is our opportunity to establish policies that honor God. Will you act now to secure these victories for generations to come?
