Eugene Vindman for Congress

John —

Last night, Trump addressed Congress for the first time since beginning his second term — and as expected, it was a barrage of lies, propaganda, and dangerous rhetoric designed to justify his authoritarian agenda.

Trump stood at that podium and lied — to you, to me, to every American watching. He desperately tried to twist reality and paint a picture of strength and success. But here’s the truth: Our country is more vulnerable than ever under his faulty leadership.

Trump tried to convince Americans that firing thousands of government employees, slashing medicaid funding to bankroll handouts for billionaires, and abandoning our allies and emboldening our adversaries is making America stronger. But Americans are smarter than that. We see the truth: Trump is making us weaker, more divided, and less safe.

There is no world in which abandoning the working class, bowing down to Putin's fascism, and undermining our democracy would make our nation strong.

I’ve spent my career defending democracy — first in uniform, then by holding Trump accountable over 5 years ago when he tried to extort Ukraine for his own political gain. And as I watched him address the nation, I saw the same dangerous patterns I’ve seen before.

I know exactly what happens when people like Trump go unchecked. I’ve seen firsthand what leaders like him do when no one stands in their way. And I won’t let it happen here.

If we don’t act now, things will only get worse. I’m not backing down from this fight — and I need you with me. If you’re ready to push back against Trump’s dangerous agenda, chip in $3 or whatever you can today.

We must bring truth to power, stand up for democracy, and defend a future where our country isn’t held hostage by Trump’s corruption and chaos.

Let’s send a message loud and clear: We won’t let Trump get away with this.

Onward,

Eugene Vindman
