John,
Zero minutes. Zero mention. Zero cares.[1] For a something that happened an average of 98,990 times a month for the first three months of 2024. [2]
Last night, at Trump’s joint address to Congress, he didn’t spend a single breath on abortion.
We need to keep the pressure on and hold him accountable for the harm he and his anti-abortion cronies are poised to inflict. Give to hold his feet to the fire.
Despite the lack of mention, we know they’re pushing forward with an anti-abortion agenda. From including personhood language in a disgusting executive order denying the humanity of trans people (including dangerous dog whistles like ‘at conception’) [3] to appointing RFK Jr., who has proven himself willing to say whatever the anti-abortion lobby wants him to say, to lead the Department and Health and Human Services, it’s clear they are after abortion care. Whether Trump’s willing to talk publicly about it or not.
Stand up now. Stop this now.
Trump’s first weeks in office have been a firehose of orders in a gross attempt to strip away the essential values of our country. From allowing unchecked billionaire Elon Musk to ransack the federal workforce [4] to attempting to halt funding for gender-affirming healthcare [5] to grossly suggesting the D.E.I. was responsible for a horrific plane crash [6], to demonizing and inspiring terror in immigrant communities, Trump and his lap-dog loyalists want to tear our country down and build it up in a way that only benefits themselves. And dictators around the world. Yes, I said it. And coming after abortion is certainly part of this agenda. They will be back.
Donate to stop them.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson
