Dear Community Member,
We need your help reaching out to Maryland lawmakers during two critical hearings TODAY. Jewish students—both in K-12 schools and on college campuses—are facing rising antisemitism, and our schools are not doing enough to protect them. Take one minute to send an email to the committees.
In just the past year:
-
Jewish college students in Maryland have been harassed, told "You killed Jesus" and "Go f* yourself" just for wearing a Star of David.
-
A professor at Towson University told students that "Jews are too defensive about the Holocaust.”
-
A car outside a Jewish sorority house displayed a sign justifying Hamas’ attacks.
Additionally, Maryland ranked 4th in the country for K-12 antisemitic incidents in the 2023 audit.
Two bills—SB435/HB86 and SB847/HB1462—would require schools to take real action against antisemitism in schools. We need lawmakers to hear loud and clear that their communities demand action. |
Sincerely,
Meredith R. Weisel
