John,
When I took office in 2017, my mission for North Carolina was simple: to build a state where people are better educated, healthier, and have opportunities to live lives of purpose and abundance.
The current situation is shining a light on the issues we need to address as a state:
Better teacher pay for educators now teaching kids remotely. Investing in rural internet to make sure that those students can access their lessons. Expanding Medicaid to help cover more than half a million North Carolinians, many with pre-existing conditions.
These challenges existed before COVID-19, but the pandemic has shown how much work we have to do, and just how important it is that we do it.
It won't be easy - but if we work together to elect Democrats from the top to the bottom of the ticket in November, we'll have the team we need to rebuild North Carolina's economy.
That's why I'm writing to you today. My team tells me we have a major end-of-month deadline tomorrow at midnight, and while we're close to hitting our goal, we need more grassroots donors from across the state to step up.
We know this is a tough financial time for people, but if you can help our grassroots campaign it'd mean an awful lot. If you're in a position to chip in, can you please make a small contribution of $10 before midnight tomorrow? You will help us tell our story, and we cannot win in November without your help.

Please, only donate if you are able. The most important thing you can do now is keep you and your family as safe as possible by following health guidelines.
Thank you,
Roy Cooper
We hope everyone is staying safe during this ongoing health emergency. The Cooper Campaign is now working remotely, and we encourage all those who are able to practice social distancing. We've taken the step of cancelling all in-person fundraising for the time being, making grassroots online outreach and fundraising even more critical than before. Roy and the rest of the team will keep working for a more prosperous, better-educated, and healthy North Carolina, and we hope you will stay with us in this fight.
