And these people – sitting RIGHT HERE – will not clap, stand or cheer for these achievements. They won’t, no matter what. 5 times I’ve been up here (X). Zelensky Changes Tune; Now Is Ready to Play Ball With Trump
Daily Wire: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signaled a shift in his tone and position on Tuesday regarding Russia’s war in his country after his disastrous meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the White House last week… “Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians,” he continued. “My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.” His comments come after he told the Associated Press this week that the end of the war against Russia was “very, very far away” — a comment that stoked a strong reaction from Trump (Daily Wire). President Volodymyr Zelensky: We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky — ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure — and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same. Then we want to move very fast through all next stages and to work with the US to agree a strong final deal. We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this (X).

State Department Re-Designates Houthis a Foreign Terrorist Organization

Just the News: The designation marks the administration’s latest attempt to stifle Iran amid a series of conflicts in the Middle East. The Houthis have largely been operating as a regional proxy for Iran, and has attacked commercial and military vessels alike (Just the News).

First Circuit Court of Appeals Rules School Has Right to Hide Gender Identity of Children from Parents
CBN: Massachusetts parents of a middle school student are hoping to take their case against their child’s school district to the U.S. Supreme Court. That comes after a federal court ruled they do not have a constitutional right to be informed that their daughter changed her gender identity and name while at school. The court essentially ruled that her school had a right to hide that information from the parents. The 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s decision to dismiss a lawsuit by parents, Stephen Foote and Marissa Silvestri, who challenged the Baird Middle School’s policy of concealing a child’s gender identity and other information from them. The parents had written the school and told them their daughter was gender-confused and under professional care and that no one was to communicate with her about it. However, the child told school officials that she considered herself “genderqueer” and said she did not want her parents to know about it (CBN). National Review: The immediate lesson is that it matters a lot, if you have kids in public school, who runs your school district. The First Circuit’s decision also illustrates the lengths to which defenders of these policies will go to obfuscate what they’re doing (National Review).

BlackRock Agrees to Purchase Panama Canal Ports for $22.8 Billion
Wall Street Journal: A consortium of investors led by BlackRock agreed to buy majority stakes in ports on either end of the Panama Canal, putting U.S. firms in control of two ports that President Trump raised as a security concern because of their connection to China. The deal with Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison is worth $22.8 billion and also includes dozens of other ports around the world, the companies said Tuesday. Trump had flagged the Panama ports as a threat even though the canal is run and controlled by Panama. His administration argued China could force the two terminals, which handled 40% of all containers that crossed the waterway last year, to restrict American-bound ships (Wall Street Journal). Collin Rugg: BlackRock to take over key Panama Canal ports from a Hong Kong-based firm following President Trump’s criticisms of China’s influence on the canal. “China is operating the Panama Canal. And we didn’t give it to China. We gave it to Panama, and we’re taking it back,” Trump said a month ago (X).

Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY) to Elon Musk: “Go back to South Africa"
Townhall: Democrats sure have been taking out their outrage on President Donald Trump and Elon Musk in some curious ways, which includes going after the latter’s national origin. Musk has been a citizen since 2002, for approximately 23 years now, but that hasn’t stopped Democrats from going after his immigration status. We’ve covered how Reps. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) and Jamie Raskin (D-MD) have done so, and now it’s Rep. Nydia Velázquez’s (D-NY) turn (Townhall). Rapid Response 47: Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY): “My question to Elon Musk: What the hell are you doing here in America? Go back to South Africa” (X).

Law Enforcement Officers Arrest Smugglers Who Brought 20,000 Illegals to the U.S.
New York Post: The two top leaders of one of the biggest human smuggling rings that funneled 20,000 illegal migrants into the US since 2019 have been arrested in Los Angeles, authorities said. Eduardo Domingo Renoj-Matul, who was busted Friday, is accused of helming the twisted group, which lured migrants from Guatemala for $15,000 to $18,000 and handed them off to smugglers in Mexico who would bring them into the US. The feds also collared Cristobal Mejia-Chaj, who prosecutors said was Renoj-Matul’s “right-hand man,” on Friday. The two men are being held without bond. The ring is accused of holding some of its victims hostage in stash houses and killing seven migrants, including a 4-year-old… If convicted of all, the accused smugglers face the death sentence or life imprisonment (New York Post). Goldman Sachs to Target Executives in Annual Round of Layoffs
Wall Street Jornal: Goldman Sachs is preparing its annual round of layoffs, this time with a focus on its vice presidents. Goldman CEO David Solomon has told senior executives that the firm hired too many vice presidents in recent years in relation to its overall hiring, according to people familiar with the matter. The cuts are intended to improve the firm’s efficiency, which Solomon has made a priority… About 3% to 5% of the firm’s workforce is expected to be cut. Goldman’s overall head count, which ended 2024 at 46,500, is expected to remain flat this year when factoring in hiring (Wall Street Journal). New York Post: Solomon, who got a 26% pay hike last year to rake in $39 million in compensation, has looked to refocus Goldman’s business on its traditional investment banking and asset management activities after a mixed foray into consumer banking. He is also having to carefully navigate the firm’s move to rollback so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion policies amid the threat of lawsuits from the Trump administration’s Department of Justice (New York Post).
