Dear Friend,

We have some exciting news to share, but before anything else, we want to start by recognizing that it has been a long and hard week. While the fight against systemic racism in our nation is always a factor in the work we do, our hearts are heavy with grief and outrage over each new report of brutality against black and brown people in America. Immigration Equality stands in solidarity with all individuals subjected to bigoted and racist hatred, injustice, and abuse.

While we want to continue to find moments of joy with you and to share community through our digital events, we also want to be sure to recognize that this is not an easy time.

The current climate has us feeling even more eager to find moments of light and connection with our community. So in the spirit of Pride and joy we share with you throughout the month of June, we’d like to invite you to a virtual drag brunch with us next weekend. Drag queens Marti Cummings and Holly Box-Springs are teaming up to bring us much needed joy and laughter and to kick off Immigration Equality’s Proud and Free campaign.

Next Sunday afternoon will be about coming together during this challenging time. Plus, an anonymous donor has generously agreed to donate $2,500 to our Proud and Free fund if at least 250 people attend this virtual drag event!

You can make an impact on someone’s life just by “showing up” for the community next weekend. So spread the word and bring your virtual brunch squad! We’re also giving away Stoli prizes but you need to be at the party to learn how to win!

We can’t wait to kick off Pride with you all next weekend. Thank you, as always, for being a part of our community.

Sincerely,
Immigration Equality
