Sheriff Ed McMahon has been with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office since 1991. He has worked in both the Patrol Division and Detective Division as a Deputy, Detective, Lieutenant, and Assistance Division Commander. McMahon was elected by the people of New Hanover County to serve as Sheriff since 2010.
