Dear Friend,

In November, the American people gave Congress a mandate. We were tasked with delivering on our promises to make our nation safe again, unleash American energy, restore fiscal responsibility, and prioritize the American people instead of the interests of radical extremists. I’m proud to say that the 119th Congress is delivering on these promises to the American people. One month of President Trump’s unprecedented administration is moving us back to common sense on key issues including ensuring safety for women and girls’ sports and promoting America-first energy policies. Tonight, I look forward to hearing from President Trump about his vision for the next four years and how we can get our country back on track after all the harm imposed by the previous administration.

Protecting Natural-Gas Home Appliances

In the final days of the Biden-Harris Administration, a rule was implemented that would ban certain natural gas fired water heaters in an attempt to continue the Democrats’ war on home appliances and consumer choice. Last week, the House passed my Congressional Review Act (CRA) that will repeal the Biden-Harris administration’s overreaching rule and prioritize consumer choice, protect natural gas appliances, and make prices affordable. I look forward to the Senate taking up this legislation soon so it can make it to President Trump’s desk.

Honoring the 761st Tank Battalion

On February 26th, Congresswoman Terri Sewell and I introduced a Bill honoring the 761st Tank Battalion for their service during World War II. Known as the “Black Panthers”, the 761st played a vital role in General Patton’s 3rd Army’s advance toward Germany. The 761st exemplified the epitome of courage and service to our country as the first black American armored unit. It’s time they get the recognition they deserve.

Providing Transparency for the American People

It is an honor to serve as Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations for the 119th Congress. Last week, we held our first hearing exposing the reckless spending spree at the end of the Biden-Harris administration.
