John, I am deeply troubled at the direction Donald Trump and House Republicans are taking us.

Just last week, nearly every GOP representative voted for a budget to slash funding for Medicaid and SNAP to pay for tax breaks for billionaires. If signed into law, this plan would result in approximately $2.25 billion in lost money for our district.

That’s not all. From mass firings to temper tantrums in the Oval Office, Republicans are causing chaos and confusion at the expense of families, our schools, and our communities.

It is a disgrace. Every day, I hear from constituents who are concerned about the direction of this country. But instead of trying to lower prices at the grocery store like they promised, the administration seems to be more focused on taking orders from an unelected billionaire.

I will not stay silent in the face of these actions. I am joining with my Democratic colleagues to fight back and make sure the American people know exactly what is going on in Washington D.C.

I am standing strong against the partisan games the GOP is playing. Please, pitch in to help me continue the important work of responding to the dangerous Republican agenda and fighting for my constituents in CT-05.
