Friend,
If there was one mandate Donald Trump had, it was to fight inflation. He even claimed, “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on day one.”
He broke his promise.
Trump’s been in office for over a month, and inflation is trending back up. While Republicans are focused on giving another tax cut to billionaires, the price of groceries, gas, and housing are all rising – and consumer confidence just took its biggest nosedive in years.
But unfortunately, this is only the beginning of Trumpflation.
Trump is now starting a trade war, imposing new 25% tariffs on our two biggest trading partners, Canada and Mexico. Economists predict these tariffs could raise costs for American families by as much as $1,200 a year.
I’m calling on the White House to stop these disastrous tariffs and focus on real solutions to bring down costs, but I want to know what you think. Do you support Trump’s nonsensical trade war?
Sincerely,
Chuck Schumer
