Dear John,In his first interview as an official candidate for Mayor, Stephen A. Smith asked disgraced former governor Andrew Cuomo how to protect New York City under a Trump administration.
I was stunned by Cuomo’s reply. Instead of condemning Donald Trump for his illegal, authoritarian power grabs, here’s what he said:
“Donald Trump is from New York City... I think that he wants NYC to appreciate him. I think he thinks there’s an opportunity for him to do good things in NYC. And really, we have to see what he does, what posture President Trump takes.”

John, it’s no surprise that Andrew Cuomo, who invited Donald Trump to his bachelor party and eagerly accepted donations from him for his past campaigns, is sucking up.
Andrew Cuomo won’t stand up to Donald Trump. Neither will Mayor Adams. But I will.
New York City doesn’t need another Mayor beholden to Trump. If you’re able to, please pitch in to my campaign today: [[link removed]]

While Andrew Cuomo wants to wait and “see what [Trump] does,” the following has already occurred:
* Donald Trump and Elon Musk stole $80M from New York City’s bank account.
* Donald Trump threatened to cancel $100 billion in housing, human services, and health care funding to NYC.
* Donald Trump fired thousands of federal employees, threatening the jobs of the nearly 50,000 federal workers that live in NYC
* Donald Trump began working to dismantle the CDC, the NIH, and HHS while bird flu is another pandemic waiting to happen.
* Donald Trump tried to cancel congestion pricing and called himself a king.
* Donald Trump proposed a budget that cut $880 billion from Medicaid.
* Donald Trump sent ICE to round up children and seniors in schools and places of worship.
John, our city needs a strong Mayor – one who will fight for New Yorkers and our rights, not suck up to Trump and Musk. Help me get there by making a contribution to my campaign today. [[link removed]]
Thank you.
