Hi, Friend. I’m Isabel Shea, part of the digital fundraising team here at Project HOPE. I woke up this morning thinking of my colleague Vira Topikha, whose story you may remember from our Giving Tuesday email below. Vira is a Program Specialist for Project HOPE in Ukraine, where she spends her days providing essential aid and services to families and children enduring the trauma of crisis and displacement.

At night when Vira goes to sleep, her only hope is that her son will not be woken up by more airstrikes. This is the reality for so many Ukranians still in urgent need of lifesaving medical care and other support.

After three years since Russia’s full-scale military invasion, Ukraine is still fighting for survival. With a collapsed healthcare system and widespread displacement, nearly 9.2 million people urgently need medical care and other aid. It's been nearly three years since the full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, my home country. Every night when I go to sleep, I hope my son won't be woken up by airstrikes. And when I wake up each morning, I check the news hoping that no more people were killed. It's hard to stay strong, but with a heavy heart, I go to work each day to support people in need the best I can because I know it matters.
