Will you join us Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. near Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter? Working people, unite!
Solidarity Alert: Event Near You! | AFL-CIO

Hi John,

On Jan. 27, President Trump effectively shut down the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and jeopardized the NLRB’s independence by illegally firing Gwynne Wilcox—the first Black woman to serve on the board.

This is a big deal for any worker whose company has a union—or wants to join one—because the NLRB is the independent federal agency that holds union elections, investigates allegations and resolves cases of wrongdoing brought by workers, unions, or employers.

Wilcox filed a lawsuit to challenge her firing, and oral arguments for her case will be heard Wednesday morning at a Washington, D.C., courthouse. We fully expect she will succeed in the courts and be restored to her position so she can continue to be a critical pro-worker voice on the NLRB.

Supporters of working people and labor unions are gathering to support her reinstatement at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia after she leaves the courthouse.

Can you join us Wednesday morning to say, “Protect workers and reinstate Gwynne Wilcox”?

WHAT: Rally to Protect Workers’ Rights

WHEN: Wednesday, March 5, at 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse
333 Constitution Ave. NW
Washington, D.C.

(The Constitution Avenue side of the courthouse, west of Third Street NW)

The closest Metro stop is Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter.

There’s rain in the forecast (thank you federal government workers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), so dress accordingly.

Please bring signs with messages like “Reinstate Gwynne” or “Workers Need the NLRB”—and wear your union colors, too.

We hope to see you there!

In Solidarity,

Team AFL-CIO
