Newcomers and experienced marathoners alike are welcome to join the 8th annual Crofton's Dam Race at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area. Registration is open now for three events: a sprint triathlon with kayaking instead of swimming, a half marathon or 12-mile bike race.

Make plans now to view sandhill cranes
Do you have plans to view sandhill cranes this month? One popular viewing spot is Fort Kearny State Recreation Area, from a bridge on the park's hike-bike trail. Park staff recommend visiting anytime from March 10 through the first week of April, with peak viewing in the third and fourth weeks of March.
Arrive at the bridge 30 to 45 minutes before sunrise and sunset for the best view. If you'd like to stay overnight, the park offers 120 first-come, first-served campsites.
