Take Action: Don’t let Trump censor the media >>
John,
Right now, President Trump is weaponizing an independent, nonpartisan agency to settle a political score.
That’s right – Trump’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is investigating CBS News because he doesn’t like an interview it aired with Kamala Harris before the November election. [1]
This should set off alarm bells for every American who believes in a free press. The FCC is meant to regulate communications in the public interest – NOT silence media outlets, censor free speech, or go after political opposition.
If you agree we can’t let Trump weaponize the government against his foes, join me in demanding that the FCC uphold its duty to protect the First Amendment and DROP this investigation >>
Trump first accused CBS of “A FAKE NEWS SCAM” back in October 2024 and called for the network’s license to be revoked. [2]
At the time, former FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel rejected President Trump’s baseless complaints and stated that “…the FCC does not and will not revoke licenses for broadcast stations simply because a political candidate disagrees with or dislikes content or coverage.” [3]
But now that Trump’s FCC Chair (and co-author of Project 2025) Brendan Carr has taken office, he reinstated the investigation into CBS and even took this campaign a step further – promising to investigate NPR and PBS as part of the GOP’s war against public media. [4]
This is a blatant attempt to silence journalism that doesn’t toe the Trump administration’s line – and we can’t let it stand.
Join me to flood the FCC with comments urging the agency to honor its responsibility to uphold free speech and freedom of the press.
Together, let’s demand that the FCC protect the interests of We The People, not the interests of the White House.
Thanks for all you do,
Ishan Mehta, Director of Media & Democracy
