Just over two years ago, I made history as the first woman to be Speaker of the Pennsylvania State House. That victory wasn’t just for me — it was for every woman who’s been told to wait her turn, be quiet, and take up less space; it’s about the generations of women before me who fought for a seat at the table.
My priority isn’t just to protect our Democratic majority.
It’s to expand it.
We must elect more women to public office and ensure our government truly represents the people it serves.
Women belong in every room where decisions are made. With attacks coming from all sides — from reproductive freedom constantly under fire to pay equity still out of reach for many — we need leaders who understand these fights firsthand.
Joanna McClinton serves as the Speaker of the Pennsylvania State House, while proudly serving the 191st district.
Joanna has made important strides to enact progress in the Pennsylvania Legislature. From working to protect the rights of those accused in our criminal justice system to spearheading the fight to expand our voting rights, she has proven that she will always prioritize the prosperity of Pennsylvanians over the promise of power.
