Hey John, it's Minnesota Governor Tim Walz with an important update.

The first month of Donald Trump’s second term has made one thing clear: he’s determined to rip away fundamental things like child care and health care that working people rely on and instead give handouts to his billionaire backers.

We have to be ready to defend our progress and our rights, John, and that’s going to take all of us.

But with a GOP Congress ready to do Trump’s bidding, Elon Musk acting as President, and a Supreme Court packed with extremist judges, our priority is urgent and clear: We must protect our rights, freedoms, and our way of life.

We can’t afford to bury our heads in the sand and wish away the challenges ahead of us. It’s time to roll up our sleeves and confront them head-on, just like we always have.

Democratic governors are fighting every day to protect our shared values, but we can’t do this without you, John.
