Recently, our National Director of Organizing and Community Empowerment, Dawn Pierce, appeared on KTVB News in support of a an Idaho bill that would increase the grocery store tax credit to $155 per person.
Last month, Republicans in the House of Representatives advanced a budget resolution that directs the House Agriculture Committee to cut programs in its jurisdiction by at least $230 billion. That will likely mean massive cuts to the SNAP program if this budget passes. Senate Republicans are also expected to put forth a budget that would slash SNAP benefits.
We urge you to contact your House Representative and US Senator and implore them to reject any any budget that cuts SNAP funding and other programs that help struggling families put food on the table. We need to stand up for SNAP!
