Friend,
Donald Trump and Elon Musk are swinging a wrecking ball at public education. Their proposals will slash special education, cut academic support that improves literacy and math programs for kids in poverty, gut mental health services and eliminate after-school programs—all to pay for tax breaks for billionaires. We can’t let that happen. We also can’t let Musk rifle through private personal data.
That’s why today, we’re fighting back. Across the country, AFT members, parents, students and activists are holding events and taking action online to protect our kids and to demand no more cuts to public education.

We are taking a stand to protect our kids, our schools and our communities. Every child deserves a high-quality education, and we refuse to let politicians strip away the resources they need to thrive.
Today is just the beginning. Our movement continues. We call on lawmakers to stand with students and commit to no more cuts to public education. The fight for our kids’ futures is far from over, and we are just getting started.
In unity,
Randi Weingarten
