Hi, friend –
How are you hanging in? These past days/weeks/months have been a lot. As a policy maker, as a Washingtonian, as a human living in our world I am feeling the weight of this period in our history. We all are.
For me, this time in our lives has underscored the importance of strong leadership in periods of uncertainty. In the oval office, in the mayor’s office – in the state legislature – we need leaders with empathy and courage. We need leaders who believe in science and who see the deep cracks in our system. We need leaders who understand the struggles everyday families are facing, and who will fight for a stronger, more resilient future for all of us.
In this time of social distancing, campaigning-as-we-know-it is out the window. Carrie and Joy haven’t been able to walk neighborhood streets and knock doors to introduce themselves to neighbors. We haven’t been able to host backyard fundraisers and intimate house parties to raise money and recruit volunteers. We are getting creative, but digital ads and mailers cost more than shoeleather, and campaign staff is working hard to earn their paychecks.
Can you help us raise $2,600 by the 31st?
