Dear friends,
|
People in Sudan are screaming with hunger.
Famine was already spreading -- but now Trump has cut all foreign aid, shutting down nearly 80% of emergency food kitchens. It's a death sentence for millions.
We're talking about people who've already escaped mass murder and weaponised rape. Families who fled their homes as Sudan's civil war slides into genocide. And severely malnourished babies, too weak to even cry.
This is an emergency appeal for donations.
When war broke out, young people, medics, and community leaders came together, creating over 1,000 emergency food kitchens. They became a lifeline for millions, reaching war-torn communities even when other aid couldn't.
But now Trump has cut that lifeline -- and world leaders are tiptoeing around the crisis while Sudan starves.
Together, we can help to reopen as many emergency kitchens as possible. By pooling our donations we can help thousands of families, pushing back the jaws of famine -- and escalating our campaign for an end to the war. We'll keep exposing war crimes and flooding the media with Sudanese voices.
The more we raise, the more people we can help in the days ahead. Every single donation will make a difference. Please give what you can now:

Today Sudan is at the very epicenter of human suffering. A brutal civil war between rival armies has deteriorated into waves of mass murder, torture, and rape. Over 14 million people have been displaced and 25 million people need immediate food aid -- that's over half the population. Experts are calling it the worst humanitarian catastrophe in modern history. We can help. If we raise enough, we could:
- Distribute emergency aid to community kitchens, helping thousands of families access meals, medicine, mental health care, and more;
- Shine a global spotlight on Sudan by fueling a powerhouse team of media campaigners and social media creatives, igniting urgency and pushing governments to act against the bloodshed;
- Work with a team of war crimes investigators harnessing satellite technology and firsthand witness accounts to pinpoint exactly where aid is needed the most -- exposing ongoing war crimes and assaults against civilians on the ground; and,
- Supercharge Avaaz's campaigns to mobilise humanitarian support to fill the critical funding gaps in Sudan, and fight to end wars and help protect civilians stuck in conflicts across the world.
Parents in Sudan are watching their children waste away, feeling powerless to stop it. But we are not powerless. Together, our donations, pooled from across the planet, will make a difference. And to some, it could be life-changing. Please donate what you can now:

Avaaz members have shone a global spotlight on this horrific conflict since it first began. We’ve helped break the media blackout to document the shocking violence against civilians -- leading to major news stories and government interventions, and helping to trigger sanctions on the worst warlords. But now, Sudan is at a breaking point, with millions on the brink of starvation. We will not look away.
With hope and determination,
Mike, Kaitlin, Camille, Will, Shayna, and the whole team at Avaaz
The image above shows doctors trying to resuscitate a 10-year-old Sudanese boy, who was suffering from tracheal bronchitis and septic shock. Tragically, he died a few minutes later. As famine and war spread across Sudan, so too do deadly diseases -- without enough hospitals to care for people suffering.
PS. This might be your first donation to our movement ever. But what a first donation! Did you know that Avaaz relies entirely on small donations from members like you? That's why we're fully independent, nimble and effective. Join the over 1 million people who've donated to make Avaaz a real force for good in the world.
