Dear Friend,
The March 1 Operation Storm Heaven
Holy Mass was livestreamed from Cardinal Burke’s private chapel in
Rome. For First Saturday, His Eminence offered a Votive Mass of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary.
In his homily, Cardinal Burke
emphasized that, as we do on every First Saturday, we meditate upon
the great mystery of God’s love for us, in the incarnation of God the
Father, God the Son - taking our human flesh, in order to win victory
over sin and death. The great victory, which is transmitted to us in
the Church, through the sacraments. That victory of life, the victory
of eternal life when we come to the end of our earthly
pilgrimage.
His Eminence said that, in a
special way, through this mystery of the redemptive incarnation, it is
being lived, at the present moment by Our Holy Father, Pope Francis,
the Vicar of Christ on earth, the successor of St. Peter. In this
mass, and of course, throughout the day, we pray for him, that his
heart may be one with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, resting with trust
in God’s infinite mercy, in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. That he
may be thus, even in his suffering, a great shepherd for the flock,
showing us all the way to eternal life, which is the Way of the Cross
of accepting suffering in our own lives. Accepting finally death
itself with full confidence, with full trust, with the mystery of
eternal life – the mystery of our final destiny, to be one with the
angels, all the saints above. With our Blessed Mother, worshipping and
giving praise, rejoicing at the presence of God; Father, Son and Holy
Spirit. His Eminence encourages us to pray for our Sovereign Pontiff
and is attending nightly the Rosary for Pope Francis in St. Peter’s
Square.
Cardinal Burke also talked about
being prepared to enter into the season of Lent, with all our heart
because it is so rich and gracious for us to grow in Christ’s life. To
overcome whatever there is of sin in our lives. Even the smallest
aspect of our life we are not giving over to God and His
service.

begins at 16:59.
I apologize for the technical
difficulties that were encountered during Cardinal Burke’s recitation
of the rosary.
Tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday, the
feast of the Holy Face of Jesus. May His adorable Face, whose beauty
is always ancient and always new, be adored and loved by
all.
Embracing the love of the Holy
Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
