Three years of brutal war in Ukraine has caused unimaginable destruction, leaving millions of people with limited or no access to electricity, water or heat. There are 3.7 million people internally displaced, and 12 million in need of assistance. Americares continues to respond to the devastating crisis.

➡️ When Russia launched its full-scale attack on Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, Americares quickly mobilized an emergency response team to Poland where we coordinated the urgent delivery of lifesaving medicines and medical supplies into Ukraine. Our team also partnered with local organizations in surrounding countries to provide essential health services to those fleeing the conflict.

➡️ In the three years since the start of the war, our teams have provided over $147 million in aid, reaching more than 80 local organizations directly supporting those most affected by the war. 

Americares has awarded 141 emergency grants valued at more than $6.6 million to 62 organizations working to improve the physical and mental health of communities affected by the continuing violence in Ukraine.

➡️ We are continuing our response by focusing on local organizations in Ukraine, providing them with medicine, medical and relief supplies and technical support and training to reach people most in need of humanitarian aid, including women, children and the elderly.

We are also providing mental health support to people affected by the trauma of war and instability.
