John,
When Ukrainian President Zelenskyy came to the White House, there is no reason he should have been treated as anything other than what he is: a hero.
Ukrainians have been opposing Russia’s unprovoked aggression and placing Vladimir Putin in check for years. They are fighting for their survival as a nation and a people. They are fighting for their lives.
Like so many of us, I was utterly ashamed at the childish show that Donald Trump and JD Vance put on during Zelenskyy’s visit to Washington. America should be a beacon for freedom—not supporting murderous dictators.
Take it from me: as a lifelong public school teacher who has worked with kids at some of their most difficult moments, Trump and Vance’s bullying of Ukraine’s president would be unacceptable in any classroom in America—much less in the Oval Office of the White House.
It’s pathetic and embarrassing—but I am optimistic because right now we can actually do something about it.
The House stands at 215 (D) to 217 (R). This special election could tip the balance of power in Washington, D.C. and put a stop to Trump’s strongman act.
We need your help to do this. We have less than 30 days to accomplish this feat. But we can do it. America is waking up and paying attention to what is going on. Please split a donation between me and Hold Them Accountable. With your support, we can rally the nation to our fight and stop Trump and Vance from selling out the soul of America:
Thank you,
Josh Weil
