Hi John,

I have always defended 2A in the State Senate- and this year is no different. ([link removed])

I wanted to tell you about two particularly important bills I have sponsored.

SB1014 – Suppressor Ban Repeal. This has PASSED the Arizona Senate!

This bill removes suppressors (muffling devices) from the list of "prohibited weapons." It aims to bring Arizona in line with federal regulations allowing suppressor ownership, recognizing their utility in reducing hearing damage and enhancing firearm safety.

SB1143 – Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act. This has passed the Rules Committee but not yet the Arizona Senate.

This bill prohibits the use of merchant category codes that distinguish firearm purchases, preventing financial institutions from tracking or restricting lawful gun transactions. It provides an essential protection against financial surveillance that could lead to de facto firearm registries through banking restrictions.

There are more- especially HB2022 (School Safety Program with Firearm Training) and SB1705 (State Preemption Enforcement). The Republicans (especially me!) in the AZ Senate are stepping up to protect your gun rights.
AZ is a liberty-loving state. This was Barry Goldwater's home, and Arizonans WANT less government and more freedom!

Dem Governor Katie Hobbs has vetoed a LOT of good 2A bills- and her Dem allies around the state on a local level keep trying to circumvent state protections for 2A rights, to enact local gun control.

We have a LOT of work to do to fix this situation.
