John,
The Trump administration is working to gut public education to pay for tax breaks for billionaires—slashing funding for special education, literacy and math assistance, career training, student loans and even Medicaid. That’s why on Tuesday, March 4, parents, educators, students and community allies are taking action across the country to demand: No more cuts!

Trump’s plans to gut the U.S. Department of Education would rob 26 million students living in poverty of critical services and 7.5 million students with disabilities of special education support. It would eliminate career and technical education for millions of students across the country, threatening their future job opportunities. Slashing Medicaid and student loans could strip healthcare coverage from more than 80 million people and end access to student loans, making college unaffordable for millions of working-class families.
We are demanding that lawmakers strengthen—not undermine—our public schools and protect the resources kids and their families rely on. But we need you to turn up the pressure.
Take action on March 4! Whether it’s joining an event or engaging online—every action counts.
Let’s show lawmakers that public education is not up for debate. No more cuts. No more attacks on kids’ futures.
In unity,
Randi Weingarten
