Tariffs Move Forward

President Trump said the U.S. would go ahead with 25% tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico effective Tuesday, declaring there was “no room left” for negotiations with America’s neighbors, as the WSJ reports.

Long Way for Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky returned to Ukraine on Monday after a whirlwind diplomatic mission that included both humiliation, by President Trump, and a warm embrace, from European leaders. He vowed to use all diplomatic avenues to pursue an end to Ukraine’s war with Russia, but acknowledged there was “a long way to go,” as the NYT reports.

Arab Leaders Plan

A faltering ceasefire in Gaza and President Donald Trump’s proposal to displace its residents have lit a fire under Arab leaders to come up with a plan for the enclave’s future, as The Washington Post reports.

“Home, home again.
I like to be here when I can.”

Every once in a while, I discover a video capturing a moment of musical genius that is unforgettable—this is one of those moments. The clip I’m referring to was first posted last September, but it is new to me. Watching this post of David Gilmour and his incredible band rehearsing for their brief tour last fall, makes me now wish I’d flown to LA to see them at the Hollywood Bowl.

Gilmour and Pink Floyd’s music has always been singular. No one else sounds like them. Just last week, I was excited to learn that Floyd is re-releasing “Pink Floyd at Pompeii — MCMLXXII,” the band’s 1972 concert film/documentary, with a restored version that is coming to Imax and other cinema starting April 24, followed shortly by a first-time stand-alone release of the soundtrack on May 2. If you have ever seen this film, and in particular, the band’s performance of “Echoes,” you know exactly why it is important.

Back to the clip of Gilmour’s fall tour rehearsal, I strongly recommend headphones, and I hope that you are as spellbound as I am.
