John,
Things have never been so clear.
Last week, a Minneapolis police officer knelt on the neck of a man suspected of paying with a counterfeit $20 bill.
The man, George Floyd, died, and the officer, Derek Chauvin, has now been charged with third degree murder. (Chillingly, the two had a history: they had worked together as bouncers at a Minneapolis night club.)
The victim was black. The officer was white.
Much has been made of President Trump’s predictably racist reaction, which included calling protesters “thugs” while crying crocodile tears for the late Mr. Floyd.
But let’s be honest: Trump didn’t create this situation.
Can you chip in and give real criminal justice a voice in Congress?
The governor of Minnesota, the mayor of Minneapolis, and the city’s police chief are all Democrats. And of course, so is Nancy Pelosi who, questioned by the press, glibly stated that “all lives matter”—as though our system weren’t heavily weighted against justice for black Americans.
The cable TV commentator Van Jones offered this insight:
“It's not the racist white person who is in the Ku Klux Klan that we have to worry about. It's the white liberal Hillary Clinton supporter who...weaponizes race like she had been trained by the Aryan nation…. Even the most liberal well-intentioned white person has a virus in his or her brain that can be activated at an instant. And so what you're seeing now is a curtain falling away.”
I happen to agree. I hope you do, too.
This is a time when we all need to look in the mirror, ask ourselves what we stand for, and take action.
Can you take action and contribute to replacing Nancy Pelosi with a fierce justice reform advocate?

Nancy Pelosi’s choices have shored up a rigged criminal justice system, just as Van Jones implies. She talks a good game, but like Trump, she’s standing in the way of change. It’s time to show her the door.
I know you’re in. I hope I can count on you.
