California judge allows Huntington Beach voter ID law case to continue

* A California judge reversed ([link removed]) his dismissal of a lawsuit challenging Huntington Beach's voter ID law. The judge said litigation can proceed now that Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) new law banning local voter ID requirements has taken effect.

Judge says Trump exceeded authority in firing whistleblower agency head

* Saturday night a federal judge ruled ([link removed]) that Trump's firing of Hampton Dellinger, the head of a key federal whistleblower agency, was illegal. The judge has ordered the Trump administration to recognize Dellinger as the head of the Office of Special Counsel.
* The district court Monday denied the Trump admin’s request to pause its ruling. It also filed a similar request in the DC Circuit, which will be fully briefed by Thursday at noon.
