We’re sure you’re overwhelmed by the news lately. The only certainty with federal funding is that everything is uncertain. President Trump’s Federal Funding Freeze a few weeks ago sent shockwaves throughout the non-profit sector, and we are no exception. In these uncertain times, we have found comfort in our community of supporters like you. A few practical steps you can take to partner with us: - Advocate
Contact your House Representatives and Senators to express your support for funding that promotes early childhood education, affordable housing, economic development, and community development. Highlight CMCA’s impact, even guide them to our Gratitude Report, and let them know they can make legislative decisions that make Missouri a better place for all!
- Give
Consider becoming a monthly donor. Reliable support from our donors will ensure we can continue operating, even if there is another short-term federal freeze. You can sign up to become a monthly donor here. - Spread the Word
You can make a difference by sharing stories of CMCA’s impact in the community, attending upcoming fundraising events, or volunteering. Even forward this email to your community who may be interested in partnering with us.
Thankfully, in partnership with donors like you, we are confident we can get through this turbulence and continue serving mid-Missouri. In our nearly 60 years of serving mid-Missouri, we have always weathered funding turmoil with bipartisan support and relationships. We remain committed to serving all members of the community and ensuring we use federal dollars efficiently and with measured impact. Last year's Gratitude Report provides a snapshot of that impact. If you haven’t had a chance to read it, we encourage you to do so now.

We believe in building relationships to empower people, strengthen resilience, and improve quality of life for all members of the community. For expecting moms in correctional facilities, pregnancy can be a scary time. We are proud to have played a part in opening a nursery at the Women's Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Vandalia, so that babies can start their life bonding with their moms. CMCA provided: - Staff and caregiving training
- Provided furniture for the nursery and activity bags for prenatal moms and infants
- Started a "Mommy and Me" class focused on parenting skills and parent-child interactions,
- Opened a clothing closet for new moms through our Women and Infant Relief Fund.
Our prenatal educators, Amber Snyder and Madison Raynor, have played instrumental roles, and we hope to continue this partnership! |

In 2024, the Missouri Women’s Business Center offered 872 one-on-one business coaching sessions. One of their clients, July Ramirez, owner of Julie Vanessa Cake Boutique, shares her thoughts on how the MoWBC has propelled her business forward:
“Business coaching has been a game-changer for my baking business. Through my coach's guidance, I’ve gained clarity on my goals, and I’ve been able to refine my branding, pricing, and marketing, which has led to increased sales. Her support has given me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and try new things, resulting in more creativity and innovation in my offerings. Overall, working with her has not only helped my business thrive but has also allowed me to find more balance and joy in my work.”
The MoWBC published their first Annual Impact Report this year. See it here! |
