Nearly $600 Million Going To Local Governments, Nonprofits
The Governor’s Office is providing nearly $600 million in coronavirus relief and recovery dollars for local Arizona governments and nonprofits as part of a funding plan announced this week by Governor Ducey. The Governor also launched the Arizona Express Pay Program, streamlining the application process for accessing public assistance from FEMA.

REPORT: Arizona Leads In Tax Relief
A new report by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) recognizes Arizona as one of just six states to enact “substantial net tax relief for its citizens” during the 2019 legislative session. The state standard deduction matches the federal standard deduction, representing a significant simplification of the tax code.

Governor Ducey Announces Michael Wisehart As Director Of The Arizona Department Of Economic Security
Wisehart has served in various leadership roles at DES since 2000, including most recently as the Assistant Director for the Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services. In this role, he is responsible for the State of Arizona’s employment programs, including child care quality and subsidies, unemployment insurance and more.
