January may have been the longest year ever, but February came and went in the blink of an eye!

Last week, Speaker Mike Johnson stated ([link removed]) that his approach to repealing provisions in the contentious Inflation Reduction Act would be “somewhere between a scalpel and a sledgehammer.”

While Republicans were rightly upset with the process and substance surrounding the Inflation Reduction Act, they are now focused on working with President Trump to improve America’s energy and economic security.

With that in mind, we recently released ([link removed]) our new report, A Wide Array of Resources is Needed to Meet Growing U.S. Energy Demand ([link removed]) , an economic analysis that finds that to meet demand affordably and reliably, the country needs a portfolio of all forms of energy. Though it is definitely a politically charged debate, our elected officials should make decisions based on facts, not emotions, and we hope this research helps them do so. ConservAmerica President Jeff Kupfer laid out the argument for why Congress shouldn’t act on energy tax without the full picture for Real Clear Energy ([link removed]) . Utility Dive covered the report here
([link removed]) .

As energy is the priority for all, earlier in the month, we sat down with President Trump’s environmental advisor, Ed Russo, to get his thoughts and perspectives on environmental protection and conservation. If you missed it, you can watch the replay here ([link removed]) and read coverage of the discussion here ([link removed]) . And when it comes to unleashing American energy, we’ll keep banging the drum that permitting reform ([link removed]) is key.

We also recently hosted a webinar on Western public lands, where we explored the growing legal and policy debate over the federal government’s large landholdings. In case you missed that one, you can watch the replay here ([link removed]) .

Finally, this month, ConservAmerica filed an amicus brief ([link removed]) in support of Diamond Alternative Energy with the U.S. Supreme Court in their case against the EPA. Our brief argues that the Court should allow third parties to be involved in the case and should focus on the key issue: how the EPA's decision to waive California's tailpipe regulations, which require 100% of vehicle sales to be electric by 2035, will affect others downstream.

That’s it from us this month. We hope you are enjoying some warmer weather and sunshiny days wherever you are!
