Hi John,

I just wanted to make sure you saw this email.

You know the state broadcaster wastes your money on big bonuses and advertising, but the CBC is refusing to hand over the details.

We are taking the CBC to court to force it to be transparent on how it spends your money.

This is your chance to join the legal fight against the CBC by chipping in on our secure donation site:

If you could give this message a read and pitch into the fight, that would be awesome.
Thanks for all you do for taxpayers!

Hi John,

YOU can take the CBC to court to drag its spending out into the light.

Ryan Thorpe is your investigative journalist at the Canadian Taxpayers Federation and he’s filed dozens of access to information to expose wasteful spending at the CBC.

Ryan’s the one who broke the story about CBC executives taking millions in bonuses – even CBC lobby groups and reporters clearly agreed the bonuses are wrong.

But when we ask basic questions about how the tax-funded CBC spends your money, it refuses to answer.

Ryan filed access to information requests about basic things like this:
* How much of your tax dollars go to bonuses for each CBC executive (we have the overall numbers, but you deserve the details too)?
* How much does CBC waste on advertising programs nobody watches?
* How much does it spend on polling and research instead of local news?

The CBC is keeping taxpayers in the dark, so we’re taking them to court to get the answers you deserve.

This is your chance to join the legal fight to force the CBC to show taxpayers how its wasting your money.

Our first filing deadline in Federal Court is Feb. 26.

Our lawyers are ready to file the papers, but fighting the CBC in court isn’t cheap. We’ve budgeted $20,000 for this court fight.

Legal fights like this work: Your lawyers are the ones who forced Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to admit he spent $6,000 a night on a hotel room.

And even after the next election, it’s going to be a huge fight to defund the CBC. This is a big opportunity to keep turning up the pressure. You have to keep fighting.

Thank you for standing up for taxpayers – you are making a difference!
