I have spent my lifetime serving our country. I have been a firefighter wounded in the line of duty, a soldier of the 101st Airborne, and an expert on emergency management.
I was also on the ground with FEMA during the LA riots, and wrote the report FEMA submitted. As a firefighter and author of six books on disaster management and terrorism, the situation unfolding in Minnesota is of great interest to me.
Let's start with this: the family of George Floyd is right to be upset and demand justice. What happened to him was a murder, plain and simple.
Americans of all politics and races were and are totally united on that point.
The peaceful protests on this incident were totally justified, as well as Constitutionally protected.
The destructive riots that followed, however, were not.
The management of the situation by the politicians of the city and state have been horrendous. It's almost a clinic in what NOT to do in this type of crisis. The leadership of the city- abandoning a precinct to be burned, allowing the destruction of many community-owned businesses- is reckless and will be a blight on the city for years to come.
The Dem Governor of Minnesota allowed all this, even as it violated his own COVID lockdown orders. Now he has no credibility either.
The corrupt, Fake News media bears responsibility in changing this situation from a tragedy into a disaster also.
-President Trump was right to criticize Twitter. After Twitter censored him, it allowed many statements of support for violence and rioting, especially from Antifa (which is driving the violence).
-CNN is blaming Trump for the death of George Floyd with no factual basis.
-MSNBC refuses to call it a riot, even as their own reporter stood in front of a burning building with looters running around him.

The media is absolutely driving this situation to be more violent and dangerous than it has to be. There are firefighters who need to get in to put out fires, or people will die. The Fake News media is endangering their lives- which, as a retired firefighter, is naturally of great importance to me.

There will be investigations of this tragedy. Don't you want someone in Congress with expertise in managing these kind of emergencies so we don't get a repeat?
I will hold the Fake News media and the feckless career politicians to account. I won't let them get away with what they did to drive this crisis out of control! Will you rush back $35, $60, $100, $250, or more right now so that I can get to Congress and stick it to the harmful Fake News media?

The media won't reform on their own. Pelosi and the left will try to protect their bias and their dangerous behavior.
