[link removed] [[link removed]] It’s been nearly three years since the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade and took away the freedom to choose from millions of women across the country.
In response to this extreme ruling, the people of Kansas overwhelmingly voted to protect abortion rights in our state. But that isn’t good enough. We need to finally get extreme politicians out of the business of telling us what we can and can’t do.
Unfortunately, those politicians haven’t given up their anti-freedom crusade. Instead, they’re threatening to restrict some of our most fundamental rights — including the freedom to choose, the freedom to marry who you love, and the freedom to live your life free from discrimination.
Last year, the Kansas GOP released a platform calling for the repeal of same-sex marriage. And this year, we’ve already seen new legislation in Congress to further restrict abortion rights across the country, roll back civil rights protections, and so much more.
I won’t stand idly by as these extreme politicians work to drag our country backwards. Our freedoms are non-negotiable — and I’ll use my voice every day to prove that to Congress.
