Justice Democrats

Content Warning: This email discusses a murder and police brutality.

John, I honestly don’t know what to say.

On Monday, in Minneapolis, George Floyd was murdered by four police officers.

There are simply no words to capture how excruciatingly painful it is right now to be a Black parent in America. Black people in our country have to live every single day knowing that there is little they can do to protect their children, their loved ones, and themselves from harm by the very institutions that are supposed to protect and serve our communities.

Our president is referring to protestors as thugs, when the actual thug is a white supremacist who lives in the White House. We are living through a nightmare.

Justice Democrats is committed to fighting for racial justice — and right now, that means supporting our brothers and sisters in Minneapolis seeking justice. People need bail support and we must invest in this community’s immediate and long term fights ahead.

If you can afford to, will you split a contribution between the Minnesota Freedom Fund, Reclaim the Block, and Black Visions Collective to help these organizations bail protestors out of jail and organize for justice?

If you can’t afford to donate right now, that’s alright. But if you can, please help us give these groups the resources they need to keep doing their important work.

Thank you for being a part of our movement. We must unequivocally declare that Black Lives Matter and support organizations that are working to end police brutality and fighting for racial justice.

In solidarity,

Alexandra Rojas
