Two new hearings were scheduled for this week. One new bill was introduced House Federal and State Affairs Committee, HB 2399 Related to Newborn Screening and adding screening for physical disability and additional funding for Kansas newborn screening fund. This bill is exempt from time deadlines.

Reminder - Thursday March 6, 8:30 am Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee hearing on HB 2307 Transferring the power to authorize and oversee certain activities regarding prenatal and postnatal diagnossed conditions awareness programs form the Department of Health and Environment tot he Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities, AND hearing on SB 276, removing the State Fire Marshall from the licensure of intellectual/Develomental Disabilitiy (IDD) group homes in Room 142-S, Suzanne Nelson 785-296-5123
