Reminders

• A boxed lunch will be available at the library from 10am to 1:30 pm.  
• Advocates will go through metal detectors before entering any buildings in the Capitol Complex. Pocketknives, scissors, etc are not allowed inside buildings in the Capitol Complex.
• Capitol police will be present while advocates go through security, however there is no requirement to show identification to enter the Capitol or other complex buildings. Be prepared to stand and walk for a considerable amount of time; don't forget to bring water and snacks with you.
• If you haven't looked up your legislators yet, now is a great time to do so! 
•  Need help? Look for event staff in purple shirts.

• Visit ILGA.gov to find a contact email and send an initial request to meet on March 4 between 11:30am-1:00pm (Find helpful videos on how to look up & contact your legislators here)
• Be prepared to call to confirm a time
• Call on the bus ride to Springfield to confirm yet again

Virtual Advocacy

• Live stream the Rally at 12:00 p.m. from the Illinois Action For Children Facebook
• Use our social toolkit to post on social media. Share what you're advocating for and why early childhood programs matter to you, and encourage your followers to post also!
• Contact Your Legislators & urge them to prioritize funding for early childhood programs in the FY26 budget
• Share your Early Intervention story to demonstrate the benefits of this crucial program, and the impact waiting lists & delayed services
