Dear Friends,

We invite you to join us for a special Women’s History Month webinar hosted by NRCAT on Thursday, March 13th at 6pm ET/ 3pm PT entitled "Empowering Voices – Women Leading the Fight Against Solitary Confinement & Injustice.” You can register here today.

During the webinar, we will hear from members of NRCAT’s National Network of Solitary Survivors on why it is so crucial to center women’s experiences in the local and national fight to end solitary confinement, as well as how gender has played a role in this advocacy. This conversation will bring to light the unique and heartbreaking challenges of women in U.S. prisons and jails. Though women are the fastest-growing incarcerated population in the country, they are often subjected to policies and practices on the inside that are designed with men in mind. Join us as we uplift the advocacy efforts of these five women, and all women who are fighting to bring justice and healing to system-impacted women.

Panelists will include:

- Marianne Oleson, Operations Director, EXPO | Wisconsin
- Cassandra Severe, Founder, Meet Her at the Gate | New Jersey
- Tamika Bruce, Advocate, Unlock the Box DC Coalition | Washington, DC
- Pauline Rogers, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Reaching and Educating for Community Hope (RECH) Foundation | Jackson, Mississippi
- Moderator: Natasha White, President/Founder, Broken Crayons Can Still Color Inc. and Director of Community Engagement for the Unlock the Box anti-solitary campaigns in Maryland and Virginia

Register for the “Empowering Voices – Women Leading the Fight Against Solitary Confinement & Injustice” NRCAT webinar.

See you on March 13th!

Sincerely,

Johnny Perez
Director, U.S. Prisons Program
