In celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, our next Fawcett Talks will explore how documentaries and investigative journalism can challenge injustice, amplify women’s voices, and drive feminist activism.

In this exclusive in-conversation event, Alesha de Freitas, former Head of Policy, Research, and Advocacy at the Fawcett Society, and Daisy Ayliffe, an award-winning documentary producer, director, and investigative journalist, will discuss the power of storytelling in exposing hidden truths and shaping the fight for gender equality.

A BAFTA and Grierson-winning filmmaker, Daisy masterminded Grenfell: The Untold Story, a gripping exposé that shook audiences and the industry alike. From leading high-stakes investigations at BBC Newsnight and Channel 4 News to directing Laura Kuenssberg: State of Chaos, she is committed to fearless, truth-seeking journalism. As a trustee of the Fawcett Society, she is also a dedicated advocate for gender equality, with a portfolio of feminist documentaries, including China’s Silenced Feminist.
