Dear John,
We’ve got great news – another judge has ruled against Ken Paxton in his fight against marijuana decriminalization.
Last Friday, Dallas District Court Judge Dale Tillery threw out Paxton’s request for a temporary injunction against the city of Dallas, which would have ended the city’s decriminalization enforcement while Paxton’s lawsuit proceeds to trial. Judge Tillery is the third judge to rule against Paxton on this issue — last year judges in Travis and Hays counties also threw out injunction requests from Paxton, as well as dismissing his lawsuits against Austin and San Marcos.
While those cases are currently on appeal, the decision in Dallas is a welcome reminder that ordinary Texans working together have power — power to organize for change, power to get out the vote, and power to make sure those votes are upheld.
We’re committed to continuing the fight for progressive change here in Texas. Can we count on your support? A monthly gift of $10 or $25 helps us defend our wins and grow our movement.
When we work together, we win together,
