John–
Did you know that every year, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers join other gun safety advocates from across their state to plan, learn, and talk to lawmakers to urge them to pass gun safety laws?
These convenings, called Advocacy Days, are part of the fabric of our movement. During advocacy days, volunteers and survivors:
✅ Meet with members of state legislatures across the country
✅ Testify at committee hearings
✅ Hold elected officials accountable
✅ And demand action on gun safety legislation, executive action, and regulations
Our ability to mobilize and show up at state legislatures has often been the difference between a good gun bill passing or a dangerous gun bill being made into law. Our Advocacy Days are key to passing gun laws—like a recently passed ammo regulation bill in Colorado, three huge pieces of gun safety legislation in Michigan, several gun safety bills in Virginia, and more.
This work at the state level helps us continue to defend gun safety and even continue to make progress while gun safety at the federal level is under threat from the Trump Administration.
But we cannot move the needle in states across the country and influence our gun safety laws without our supporters. It takes a village to keep our work on the ground flourishing, and that includes help from our donors.
Support all our work, fuel our movement, and keep our volunteers flooding state capitols by donating to the Everytown Action Fund today!
Thank you for being a part of this important movement.
