For some folks, it's tempting to just avoid the news entirely.
For others of us, it's hard not to doom scroll and see the horrible things the Trump administration is doing. It is genuinely frightening, and exactly what we worked so hard last fall to prevent.
Trump’s strategy is constant chaos and uncertainty. A few dreadful examples so far:
- The flash tariffs on Mexico and Canada that he immediately caved on
- The freeze of all federal funding that led to daycare facilities getting shut down
- Families across the country worried they'll be ripped apart by ICE raids targeting people who are following the law and paying taxes
- The denial of the existence of trans and non binary people
- The freeze of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
- The announced deletion of the self tax filing system
The MAGA plan is: attack, distract, divide, disassemble the government, and, at every turn, funnel money to the billionaires who have taken over the government.
That's the thing they're really focused on.

Every one of the absurd actions Trump is taking is going to make life harder for so many people across the country. But that’s exactly why WisDems continues to fight: because the worst thing we can do right now is to give in and let Trump dismantle our country without any resistance.
