Content Warning: this email discusses a murder.
In the wake of George Floyd’s murder, Ilhan and I — in partnership with our fellow Congresswomen Karen Bass and Barbara Lee — just introduced a resolution to condemn police brutality, racial profiling, and the use of excessive force.
We need support from every member of the House — and we must demand a floor vote on this resolution. Will you call your representative right now and urge them to co-sponsor this Resolution?

For too long, Black and brown bodies have been profiled, surveilled, policed, lynched, choked, brutalized and murdered at the hands of police officers.
We cannot allow these fatal injustices to go unchecked any longer. There can be no justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, or any of the human beings who have been killed by law enforcement because, in a just world, they would still be alive.
There must, however, be accountability.
Our elected officials must do everything within their power to ensure accountability for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so many others who should still be alive today. That’s why we need widespread support for this resolution, and to bring it to the floor for a vote as soon as possible.
Please, call your representative now and urge them to co-sponsor this resolution and push for a floor vote.

Thank you for taking action today. Together, we will continue the fight for accountability and continue working to protect Black lives.
