The two Chambers of the Georgia General Assembly have voted on whether males should be allowed to play girls’ sports. Though the process will continue, language refined, and final passage remains, the Senate and the House both stood for what’s right.

Tonight, the United States Senate must decide if it will do the same. Sen. Tommy Tuberville needs seven Democrats to cross party lines to vote to bring the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act up for a vote.

What will our two Democrat United States Senators do?

To call Sen. Raphael Warnock, dial (202) 224-3643

To call Sen. Jon Ossoff, dial (202) 224-3521

Urge Warnock and Ossoff to do the right thing and protect girls around the country from a wicked ideology that allows men to take their spots, trophies, and records while invading their privacy!

We are urging passage of this bill and are proud that Georgia is leading the way.

Under the leadership of Lt. Governor Burt Jones, the Senate passed SB1, authored by Sen. Greg Dolezal, as its latest attempt to get girls sports legislation across the finish lines. The Chamber made the issue its top priority and, with Dolezal at the helm, held a Study Committee over the summer.

Under the leadership of Speaker Jon Burns, the House passed HB 267, authored by Rep. Josh Bonner, last week. We were honored to be invited to share at the press conference announcing the bill, and its language pulls key concepts from language Frontline has made publicly available over the past 8 months.

Leadership in both Chambers did an excellent job bringing unity among Republicans. Every Republican elected official under the Gold Dome voted to pass the bill.

Only five – out of 103 – Democrats chose to do the same.

We especially urge you to take note of the bill’s primary sponsors:

Sen. Greg Dolezal (Cumming) – [[email protected]]

Rep. Josh Bonner (Peachtree City) – [[email protected]]

Please note that numerous other legislators over the years have played key roles in moving this issue along, and we are grateful for the contributions of them all.

You may also want to take the time to thank the six Democrats who crossed party lines – enduring vitriol from their side of the aisle in the process:

Rep. Lynn Heffner (Augusta) - [[email protected]]

Rep. Tangie Herring (Macon) - [[email protected]]

Rep. Dexter Sharper (Valdosta) - [[email protected]]

Sen. Ed Harbison (Columbus) – [[email protected]]

Sen. Freddie Powell Sims (Dawson) – [[link removed]]

Our hope is that Senators Warnock and Ossoff will follow their example, do the right thing, learn the lesson about why Democrats lost in November, and vote to protect girls across the country. Make sure to give them a call with that exhortation!

Stay tuned for the latest on this fight in Georgia and in Washington, DC!
