#OURPOWER is in our numbers. So far, we've driven over 12,000 CALLS. From California to Virginia, these calls have helped secure funding for community-based violence intervention programs. Stay plugged into OUR POWER with your chapter newsletter.
Black Lives Matter. Today. Tomorrow. And Always.
Our statement reguarding the murder of George Floyd
The state must be held accountable for allowing its duty to serve the public be subverted to murder Black people. The lives of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd, to name a few out of thousands, were taken in acts of state-sanctioned murder.
We challenge our government institutions to clarify which policies officers are sworn to enforce. The routine failure to punish murderers in uniform suggests that enforcing white supremacy through violence is more important than protecting human life.
March for Our Lives stands with local activists to demand justice for the specific forms of deadly violence wielded against Black Americans.
To hold the Minneapolis Police department and the government it represents accountable, call the Hennepin County's District Attorney's Office and demand justice for the murder of George Floyd: 612-348-5550
As always, pay attention to your community organization's local actions.
